After 33 hours, Delta Air Lines finally releases puppy from cargo in Guatemala

Bunny the dog can finally go home.

When Mary Nguyen, a 25-year-old student in Minneapolis, decided to relocate her 8-month-old dog Bunny to Guatemala so it could live with her husband, she went through a long and expensive process to make sure her dog would arrive safely. Instead, her German Shepherd was stuck in a bureaucratic limbo due to an unforeseen issue with the dog’s paperwork. Bunny left Minneapolis at 5:25 p.m. on May 24, but officials at La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City told her Bunny was separated from her certifications in Minneapolis and, although the paperwork was in the company’s online system, they need a physical copy before the dog could be released.
