You’ve probably never heard of the fastest-growing job in America (clue: it helps the environment)

President Trump may have pulled out of the Paris climate accord, the deal to limit greenhouse gases. But there’s one job that’s seeing a spike, likely due to an environmentally-aware public.

The fastest growing job in the country between 2012 to 2016 was a “solar photovoltaic installer” — someone who assembles solar panels on roofs, according to a recent study from personal finance technology company SmartAsset. The rate of growth for this job was 88.3%, jumping from 4,710 in 2012 to 8,870 in 2016, compared to an average of 4.9% for 675 occupations analyzed. It pays an average salary of $42,500 a year, less than the median annual household income of $58,673.
