Hollywood can make good reboots, just look at ‘War for the Planet of the Apes’

Let’s face it, Hollywood doesn’t always get it right.

That has been the case with a string of film reboots, retreads and franchises in the past few years that were widely shunned by frustrated moviegoers. Criticism of the quality and number of reboots making their way to the big screen has now started to bubble over.

In many cases the criticism has been warranted.

Media analyst Paul Dergarabedian called last year’s summer blockbusters, which were widely criticized for lacking original ideas, the worst-reviewed crop of movies ever.
