Trump says he has ‘complete power to pardon’

Donald Trump early Saturday said the U.S. president has the “complete power” to issue pardons, but suggested he sees no need to do so as a probe into his campaign’s interactions with Russia continues.

In a wide-ranging series of Twitter messages, Trump again called the allegations “fake news”:

While all agree the U. S. President has the complete power to pardon, why think of that when only crime so far is LEAKS against us.FAKE NEWS

The Washington Post reported Thursday that Trump and his legal team were discussing his authority to grant pardons and potential ways to undermine special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian election meddling.
