In One Chart: The best franchises to buy in each state

For less than $10,000, a career in managing a coffee shop awaits, according to cost-estimating website HowMuch.net, which crunched the numbers to determine the best franchise opportunities headquartered in each state across the country.

In Maine, Coffee News took top honors, as one of only two high-quality franchises available east of the Mississippi below $100,000. The other is New York’s Minuteman Press, a provider of business services like copying and printing.

On the flip side, Culver’s in Wisconsin, home of the ButterBurger, is the most expensive on the list, with initial costs topping $1.8 million.

Also of note, Texas-based 7-Eleven, which took top honors in Entrepreneur’s 2017 Franchise 500 Ranking, costs an initial investment starting at $37,000.
