Capitol Report: The Trump economy isn’t creating scores of ‘male’ jobs

The photos don’t lie — when President Donald Trump went to a rally in West Virginia this week, it was primarily blue-collar men who came out to support him.

“They’re trying to cheat you out of the future and the future that you want,” the president told the audience.

While this demo is the bedrock of his support, and while Trump is quick to point to solid jobs growth numbers, the economy under the 45th president hasn’t meaningfully created a better situation for those men.

The percent of men in nonfarm jobs has held steady, at 50.5%, for five straight months.
