‘Game of Thrones’ analysis: Fire can kill and cure in ‘The Spoils of War’

“It is no easy thing to slay a dragon, but it can be done.”

Kent Sepkowitz, MD, is an infectious disease specialist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Here, Dr. Sepkowitz analyzes this week’s episode of “Game of Thrones” and the dual roles of fire: It can kill, and it can cure.

This week’s episode of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” continued its nothing-is-sacred approach to finishing up the series, dispassionately piling up corpses and shutting down plotlines.
