Key Words: Here’s why Twitter won’t ban Donald Trump

President Donald Trump’s tweets may outrage a lot of people, but don’t expect Twitter to block his account. The would be tantamount to corporate suicide, one Wall Street analyst said Thursday.

In an interview with Bloomberg News, Crespi Hardt & Co. analyst James Cakmak said Twitter could lose $2 billion from its market cap — about 20% of its value — if Trump stopped tweeting.

“There is no better free advertising in the world than the president of the United States.”

Cakmak said the problem for Twitter wouldn’t be so much users dropping the service, but a loss in intangible value and multiple compression, a situation where investors sell off, believing the stock to be overvalued.
