‘Game of Thrones’ analysis: Queen Daenerys doesn’t want to talk about death or make a will. Neither do most Americans

The latest episode of HBO’s TWX, +0.91% “Game of Thrones,” “Beyond the Wall,” delivered all sorts of action: a rootin’ tootin’ shoot-out, some long, dewy stares between young stars, a blue-eyed zombie Dragon Walker and a bold entry into the prickliest topic in U.S. health care.

No, not the Affordable Care Act or cost or quality, but something even more vexing: Death. Or more specifically, planning for end of life. Early in the episode, Queen Daenerys Targaryen and her royal advisor Tyrion Lannister are chatting about world domination when Tyrion suddenly pushes the conversation to the one topic even the Mother of Dragons can’t handle – advanced health-care directives.
