MarketWatch First Take: The Uber reality show is now over

With a seasoned chief executive getting ready to take control at Uber Technologies Inc. and a judge moving a lawsuit between an investor and former CEO Travis Kalanick behind closed doors, the most titillating tech company meltdown in recent memory appears to be at an end—at least publicly.

New Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, who officially starts next Tuesday, was introduced at Uber headquarters in San Francisco on Wednesday. The former Expedia Inc. EXPE, -0.38% CEO told employees, after being introduced by Kalanick, that the embattled ride-hailing company has to change.

“What got us here is not what’s going to get us to the next level,” he said, according to The Wall Street Journal.
