London Markets: FTSE 100 ends lower after Pyongyang again tests its nuclear capabilities

South Korean troops fire Hyunmoo Missile into the waters of the East Sea at a military exercise in South Korea on Monday.

U.K. stocks lost ground Monday, falling alongside markets throughout Europe and Asia after North Korea conducted another test of its nuclear capabilities.

The FTSE 100 index UKX, -0.36% moved down 0.4% to end at 7,411.47.

Top advancers within the index included Fresnillo PLC FRES, +2.91% and Randgold Resources Ltd. RRS, +2.02% , rising 2.9% and 2%, respectively, as gold prices GCZ7, +0.82% leapt nearly 1% and traded near a 1-year high.
