Apple AAPL, +1.01% marked a milestone on Tuesday with the unveiling of its most expensive phone ever — the iPhone X, which starts at $999.

Chief executive Tim Cook revealed the new phone — which comes with wireless charging and facial recognition — at a breathlessly-covered media event. But he failed to mention a move Apple made at the other end of its product line. The price tag for the smallest iPhone, the SE, dropped $50 to $349, Apple Insider first reported.
