The Wall Street Journal: Third day of protests in St. Louis after acquittal in fatal police shooting

Demonstrators took to the streets Sunday in St. Louis to protest the acquittal Friday of a former city police officer charged with murder in the 2011 shooting of a black man.

Hundreds of supporters stood in silent protest for six minutes outside police headquarters in downtown St. Louis, many with one fist raised, to represent the six years since the killing.

The crowd then started chants including “Stop killing us” as demonstrators occupied the area outside police headquarters and later marched down a nearby street. The event was streamed live by Facebook users. Protesters also gathered Saturday and Friday for largely peaceful demonstrations that devolved into late-night spurts of violence.
