The Wall Street Journal: Slack raises $250 million funding round led by SoftBank

Slack Technologies Inc. said Monday it closed a $250 million funding round led by SoftBank Group’s Vision Fund, making it the latest tech startup to catch the eye of the world’s largest technology fund.

The latest financing round values the three-year-old company at $5.1 billion.

Slack, whose namesake workplace messaging platform is used by 8 million people a week, has raised $841 million in funding to date. The investment included funding from existing investor Accel Partners and others.
