Being under surveillance changes our behavior — and not for the better

Home building company KB Home KBH, +0.34% is cutting the annual bonus of chief executive Jeffrey Mezger by 25% after an expletive-laced recording surfaced of him berating his neighbor, the comedian Kathy Griffin. Mezger used sexist and anti-gay language towards Griffin, which was caught on Griffin’s security camera. The company, on Mezger’s behalf, apologized for “losing his temper” after Griffin called the police in a noise complaint against him and his family.

“Mr Mezger regrets losing his temper and the language he used,” the company said in a statement. “It does not reflect who he is or what he believes.
