Amazon raises Prime monthly membership fee by nearly 20%

Amazon’s monthly Prime membership cost is getting a bump, but the annual cost remains the same

Amazon.com Inc. has raised the cost of its monthly Prime membership fee to $12.99 from $10.99, a nearly 20% rise, though the $99 cost of the full-year Prime membership has not changed.

The new pricing is now available on the Amazon AMZN, +0.10% website, with a note that monthly members can “cancel anytime.” Both the Prime Monthly and Prime Yearly memberships offer the same perks, including Prime Video access, free two-day shipping and unlimited reading and music. The Prime Yearly membership option is marked “best value.
