Tesla stock bounces back to gains after late dip

Tesla Inc. shares staged a comeback late Thursday after the Silicon Valley car maker denied reports of fresh delays of its Model 3 sedan.

Tesla TSLA, -2.39% stock ended the regular trading session down 2.4%, tied with Dec. 26 as its worst percentage decline in recent weeks. It rose nearly 2% after hours, however, after the company moved to dispel allegations in a report by CNBC.

Losses accelerated after the report, which cited current and past Tesla employees as saying they expected more problems with Model 3 production amid battery issues at the company’s plant outside Reno, Nev.
