Capitol Report: Trump booed by Democrats over immigration as he calls for unity

President Donald Trump waves as he arrives to deliver his first State of the Union address on Tuesday.

Democrats booed President Donald Trump during his remarks on immigration in his first State of the Union speech on Tuesday night, after he began his address by calling for unity in Washington.

Democrats were reacting to Trump’s comments about what he calls chain migration. He said the current immigration system allows “a single immigrant” to sponsor “virtually unlimited numbers of distant relatives.”

The current system allows citizens to sponsor parents, children and siblings.
