The New York Post: At State of the Union, bipartisan cheers for North Korean defector

A North Korean defector brought lawmakers to their feet on Tuesday night during President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, triumphantly hoisting crutches he used to bravely hobble away from the hermit kingdom.

He used a rickety old pair of crutches to flee North Korea in 2006 and made his way through China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand before finding his final freedom.

“Seong-ho, I understand you still keep those crutches as a reminder of how far you have come,” Trump said.
