Does Amazon Prime’s 2-hour free food shipping make it a better deal than Costco?

In the wake of Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods, could a Prime membership now offer consumers better value than one with Costco?

Amazon’s AMZN, -0.06% purchase of the grocery store chain has already led to benefits for customers. In August, the online retailer marked down popular produce to celebrate the deal’s closing. And now, Amazon Prime members can get free two-hour delivery from select Whole Foods locations or pay $7.99 to get their groceries within an hour.

Meanwhile, Costco COST, +0.19% members recently had the opportunity to get memberships to movie subscription service MoviePass and streaming service Fandor for a reduced rate.
