This gem is from Ben Fritz’s new book, “The Big Picture: The Fight for the Future of Movies,” from which the Wall Street Journal published an exclusive excerpt Friday. It’s a startling quote attributed to Sony SNE, +1.52% execs, who reportedly passed on an opportunity in 1998 to acquire the rights to Marvel characters for just $25 million. (Disney DIS, +1.28% later paid $4 billion for them in 2010.)
