The New York Post: Newsweek publishes exposé on its own parent company

A group of journalists at Newsweek have published a stunning exposé about the magazine’s controversial owner — and revealed that they almost got fired in the process.

The story, published on the magazine’s website late Tuesday, details the cozy relationship between its owner, Newsweek Media Group, and Olivet University, a California-based Bible college founded by Korean evangelist David Jang.

Specifically, the article reports on a 2016 deal in which Olivet offered county officials free advertising in Newsweek, even as it sought tax breaks and permits to build a new campus in upstate New York on the site of the abandoned Hudson Valley Psychiatric Hospital.
