Market Snapshot: Dow set to edge up, as Fed-driven jitters persist

Dow futures rose modestly Thursday, as Wall Street tried to shake off downbeat reaction following minutes from the Federal Reserve’s most recent gathering, which hinted at quickened pace of rate increases.

Investors were watching elevated U.S. bond yields and dollar strength, and European and Asian equities mostly lost ground.

Dow futures YMH8, +0.11% rose by 30 points, or 0.1%, to 24,812, while S&P 500 futures ESH8, +0.31% added 8.80 points, or 0.3%, to 2,707.50. Nasdaq-100 futures NQH8, +0.36% slid 15.25 points, or 0.2%, to 6,775.75.

On Thursday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.67% closed down by 167 points, or 0.7%, surrendering gains that had the blue-chip gauge up by 303 points at its session peak.
