The Wall Street Journal: Trump inspects border wall prototypes, wants one that’s ‘see-through’

SAN DIEGO — President Donald Trump Tuesday got a look at the border wall he has touted for nearly three years, inspecting prototypes that he hopes will be a model for hundreds of miles of barrier separating the U.S. from Mexico.

He also escalated his administration’s battle with the state of California, which has repeatedly challenged his immigration policies in court and elsewhere. Trump said longtime Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown is doing “a terrible job.” Noting that he owns property in the state, Trump said taxes were double or triple what they should be.

Brown responded to Trump on Twitter: “Thanks for the shout-out… But bridges are still better than walls.
