Mark Zuckerberg promises changes after Facebook data scandal

After days of silence, Facebook Inc. Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg outlined the company’s response to the Cambridge Analytica data controversy Wednesday.

“We have a responsibility to protect your data, and if we can’t then we don’t deserve to serve you.” Zuckerberg wrote in a Facebook post. “I’ve been working to understand exactly what happened and how to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

In a 935-word written statement, Zuckerberg described three broad initiatives Facebook FB, +0.74% would undertake to address the growing international fervor over the improper handling of the data from about 50 million accounts.
