The Wall Street Journal: Uber flying-car chief Jeff Holden stepping down

Uber Technologies Inc.’s chief product officer, Jeff Holden, who helped develop Uber Pool and more recently oversaw the company’s flying-taxi initiative, said he is leaving the company.

Holden has told colleagues his last day at the San Francisco ride-hailing firm is Thursday, a spokesman confirmed.

Uber’s former chief executive, Travis Kalanick, hired Holden four years ago from Groupon Inc. GRPN, -0.41% . Holden also previously spent about nine years at Amazon.com Inc. AMZN, -0.35% , and was responsible for the company’s consumer-facing technology including the development of Amazon Prime.

At Uber, Holden also was known for helping to create the company’s prior controversial corporate values that included “toe-stepping” and “always be hustlin’.
