Market Extra: Which markets are closed on Memorial Day?

U.S. financial markets will be shut on Monday in observance of Memorial Day, a holiday that honors those who have lost their lives while serving in the military.

While U.S. stock markets will see regular trading hours on Friday, but indexes such as the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.24% , the S&P 500 SPX, -0.24% and Nasdaq Composite COMP, +0.13% will all be closed for Monday’s holiday.

The bond market may see lighter action on Friday, as the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association suggests an early close of 2 p.m.
