The Wall Street Journal: Ex-Senate staffer charged with lying to FBI seeks gag order on Trump

WASHINGTON — Attorneys for a former Senate staff member accused of lying to federal investigators said President Donald Trump’s remarks on the case were “highly prejudicial,” and asked a judge to order him and other executive branch officials to keep quiet about the case in public.

In federal district court in Washington, D.C., Tuesday, lawyers for James A. Wolfe argued that statements from Trump and other federal officials had adversely affected their client’s right to a fair trail.

“The highly prejudicial public comments already made by President Donald J. Trump and senior Justice Department officials have threatened Mr. Wolfe’s right to a fair trial” under the U.S.
