Uncover tech-stock exposure through a VC firm that finds the disruptors

Technology stocks are scoring all-time highs yet again, but you may have tired of betting on the same old Nasdaq names. A less-familiar publicly traded venture-capital firm offers another way to get exposure to the sector’s growth.

Draper Esprit EDV, +2.28% —based in London, with offices in Cambridge, U.K., and Dublin—invests in young European tech outfits and other disruptive businesses. It emerged more than a decade ago from U.S. VC firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson. While its shares have risen to about £5 ($6.60) since debuting two years ago around £3, more gains could be ahead.

“This is a play on early-stage, high-tech growth companies,” says Patrick O’Donnell, an analyst at Irish brokerage Goodbody.
