Europe Markets: European stocks close little changed, with no break for trade-war concerns

Europe’s main stock benchmark finished roughly flat Wednesday, with global trade concerns still hovering over markets, as China readies tariffs on the U.S. and the EU looks at mustering big auto-making countries to agree a new trade deal.

How markets are moving

The Stoxx Europe 600 index SXXP, +0.06% inched up less than 0.1% to end at 380.05. The pan-European index on Tuesday rose 0.8%, and it’s on track for a weekly gain of less than 0.1%.

Trading volumes were dampened because U.S. financial markets are closed for the Independence Day holiday.

Germany’s DAX 30 index DAX, -0.26% shed 0.3% to close at 12,317.61, while France’s CAC 40 index PX1, +0.07% edged higher by less than 0.1% to finish at 5,320.50.
