Amazon takes Prime Day perks beyond e-commerce to drive traffic to Whole Foods stores

Amazon.com Inc.’s latest Prime Day perks further the e-commerce giant’s strategy of sending Prime members to all corners of the Amazon ecosystem, both online and in stores.

On Tuesday, Amazon AMZN, +0.23% announced a new reward for Prime members: from July 11 through the 17, Whole Foods shoppers who spend $10 will earn $10 for Prime Day shopping. Amazon Prime Rewards Visa cardholders will get 10% back, double the usual rewards, for up to $400 in purchases when shopping at Whole Foods between July 14 through 17.

Prime Day will last for 36 hours starting July 16 through July 17.
