Market Snapshot: Dow set for longest streak in a month, as S&P 500 touches nearly 4-month high

U.S. stocks were in rally mode Tuesday afternoon, setting the Dow up for further gains and extending the benchmarks to their highest levels in months on strong economic data that have thus offset fears over global trade disputes.

What are the main benchmarks doing?

Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.55% climbed 146 points, or 0.6%, to 24,922, with the benchmark poised to mark its first four-day rise since a similar streak ended June 11, according to FactSet data. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 index SPX, +0.29% added about 10 points, or 0.3%, to 2,794, reaching its highest level, at its intraday peak, since March 13 when it hit 2,801.90.
