U.S. stock-index futures fell on Tuesday, suggesting the equity market’s recent downturn was poised to continue as investors continued to fret over rising bond yields and the implications they could have for equity prices.

Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average YMU9, -0.93% fell 132 points, or 0.5%, to 26,413. S&P-500 futures ESU9, -0.47% lost 13 points to 2,880.50, a decline of 0.5%. Nasdaq-100 futures NQU9, +0.17% shed 35 points, or 0.5%, to 7,357.

The Dow DJIA, -0.61% eked out a slight gain on Monday, but both the S&P SPX, -0.34% and the Nasdaq COMP, -0.02% fell for a third straight session.
