Key Words: Twitter creates filter bubbles, and ‘we need to fix it,’ says Jack Dorsey

Social-media companies are failing their users by creating echo chambers that encourage polarization, Twitter co-founder and Chief Executive Jack Dorsey said Monday.

“I think Twitter does contribute to filter bubbles and I think that’s wrong of us, we need to fix it.”

Speaking at an event in San Francisco celebrating Wired’s 25th anniversary, Dorsey said users generally follow those they agree with — and miss opposing points of view.

Amazon.com Inc. AMZN, +1.48% CEO Jeff Bezos, appearing at the same Wired event, agreed.
