Capitol Report: White House set to meet with Amazon, Google | Fed nominee Liang may not make it to Senate floor vote

The White House plans to convene technology giants including Amazon.com AMZN, -0.38% , Google GOOG, +0.78%GOOGL, +0.66% , Microsoft MSFT, +0.15% and IBM IBM, -1.11% on Monday and urge them to make it easier for their workers to do brief tours of duty in government, the Washington Post writes.

Christopher Liddell, deputy chief of staff for policy coordination, told the Post that “the country benefits when patriotic citizens with technical expertise choose to serve at the federal, state or local level.
