Netflix is still the favorite streaming service for teen viewers, survey finds

Teenagers love Netflix.

That’s what Piper Jaffray’s most recent national survey of teenage viewing habits says — again. The firm asked 8,500 high-school students what percentage of time they spend watching Netflix NFLX, -1.16% cable or satellite TV, YouTube and other over-the-top platforms.

The breakdown was what you might expect. Netflix led the bunch, with teenagers saying they used the streaming giant for an average of 38% of their video consumption. Alphabet-owned GOOG, +0.71% YouTube came in second at 33% and cable or satellite TV came in at 16%. Hulu, which is jointly owned by The Walt Disney DIS, -0.25% 21st Century Fox FOXA, +0.17% Comcast Corp.
