Hong Kong’s Hang Seng HSI, -0.68% index fell 1% and Singapore’s STI, -1.41% stock market fell a bit more. The Nikkei NIK, -0.40% in Japan was off 0.5%, while China’s Shanghai composite SHCOMP, -0.40% dropped 0.5%.

The trade dispute between the U.S. and China remained a major concern of market participants as the U.S.
