Market Snapshot: Stocks turn lower as lingering doubts over global trade resurface

U.S. stock-index futures pointed to a solidly higher start for Wall Street, as investors readied to attempt a bounce back from the previous week’s steep losses, ahead of another heavy week of earnings data.

What are major benchmarks doing?

S&P 500 futures ESZ8, +1.04% rose 26.7 points, or 1% to 2,696, while futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average YMZ8, +0.67% rose 154 points, or 0.6%, to 24,888. Nasdaq-100 futures NQZ8, +1.19% rose 80.5 points, or 1.2% to 6,975.

Last week saw the S&P 500 SPX, -1.73% drop 3.9% to end Friday at 2,658.69, leaving it 8.8% lower in the month to date, while the Dow DJIA, -1.19% dropped 3% last week to 24,688.31, leaving it 6.7% lower for the month.
