Key Words: Apple’s Tim Cook says tech regulation ‘inevitable’ because free market isn’t working

Regulation of tech companies is coming, Apple Inc. Chief Executive Tim Cook says, because the free market “is not working.”

“I’m a big believer in the free market. But we have to admit when the free market is not working. And it hasn’t worked here. I think it’s inevitable that there will be some level of regulation.”

Tim Cook, Apple CEO

“Generally speaking, I am not a big fan of regulation,” Cook told Axios in an interview for “Axios on HBO,” airing Sunday night, but “I think the Congress and the administration at some point will pass something,” And Cook said tech companies should not be afraid of regulations.
