Europe Markets: European stocks eke out small gains to end week, despite weak oil, Brexit-deal doubts

European markets managed to eke out a small gain and finish in positive territory on Friday, as sharply weaker oil prices weighed on many stock benchmarks.

That included those in the U.S., which ended a shortened session in the red.

How are the markets performing?

The Stoxx Europe 600 SXXP, +0.40% closed 0.4% higher at 353.98, still having dropped more than 1% on the week, according to Dow Jones Market Data.

The German DAX DAX, -0.88% ended Friday up 0.5% at 11,192.69 points, and the French CAC 40 index PX1, +0.18% closed 0.2% higher at 4,946.95.
