Market Snapshot: Stock indexes log worst Thanksgiving week since 2011—all three fall at least 3.5%

U.S. stocks fell during Friday trade, pressured again by falling oil prices and setting themselves up to end the week solidly in the red.

The New York Stock Exchange will close at 1 p.m. Eastern Time, while other financial markets also will see earlier closures on Black Friday. Trading volumes are expected to be thin.

How did the benchmarks perform?

The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.28% fell 134 points, or 0.6%, to 24,329, the S&P 500 index ESZ8, -0.23% was off 11.32 points, or 0.4%, at 2,638, while the Nasdaq Composite Index NQZ8, -0.02% retreated 6.3 points to 6,965, a decline of 0.1%.
