American Airlines kicks mother and baby off flight because of dry skin condition

A South Carolina woman said she has “never been so humiliated” after American Airlines AAL, -2.66% forced her and her child to get off a plane due to their dry skin, a side effect of a rare disease called Ichthyosis.

Jordan Flake says she was traveling back to her home state of South Carolina after visiting her husband, who is in the military in Texas, when a flight attendant asked about her “rash,” referring to the inflamed skin caused by her disorder. He then ordered Flake and her baby to leave the plane due to their appearance. She and her 12-month-old son both suffer from the illness and Flake runs a YouTube channel and Instagram FB, +3.14% account to raise awareness about it.
