Europe Markets: Major European indexes rise as U.S. and China take steps towards trade agreement

Europe’s markets were up on Monday after reports the U.S. and China are rapidly moving towards reaching an agreement to end their prolonged tariff war.

How are markets performing?

The Stoxx Europe 600 SXXP, +0.35% added 0.3% to 375.38 after finishing up 0.8% last week.

France’s CAC 40 PX1, +0.53% was the regions top gainer, climbing 0.5% to 5,293.58, while Italy’s FTSE MIB index I945, +0.16% rose by 0.2% to 20,729.16.

Meanwhile, the FTSE 100 UKX, +0.31% rose by 0.2% to 7,120.98, Germany’s DAX DAX, +3.49% was flat at 11,606.62 and Spain’s IBEX 35 IBEX, +0.17% rose 0.2% to 9,236.30,
