European markets enter fourth day of broad rally

European markets extended their gains Wednesday, supported by economic data and positive U.S.-China trade deal smoke signals.

How did markets perform?

European stock indexes were uniformly higher, with the Stoxx Europe 600 SXXP, +0.61% gaining 0.7% Wednesday to 387.8, on track for a fourth consecutive day of gains. It climbed 0.4% Tuesday.

Germany’s DAX DAX, +0.71% rallied 1.4% to 11,920.6, after capturing a 0.6% gain on Tuesday.

Italy’s FTSE MIB I945, +1.11% was also in robust shape, up nearly 1.1% to 21,753.5. It ended Tuesday flat.

In France, the CAC 40 PX1, +0.60% was 0.7% higher Wednesday to 5,462.8, after closing up 0.3% Tuesday.
