The Wall Street Journal: Ex-Nissan chairman Carlos Ghosn arrested again in Tokyo

TOKYO — Former Nissan Motor Co. Chairman Carlos Ghosn was arrested again in Tokyo early Thursday over new suspicions of financial misconduct less than a month after he was released on bail.

Prosecutors descended on Ghosn’s Tokyo apartment in an early-morning move, according to footage on public broadcaster NHK, and later brought him to the Tokyo prosecutors’ office. A friend of Ghosn said a defense lawyer confirmed that Mr. Ghosn was rearrested by prosecutors. A representative of Ghosn confirmed his arrest.

“My arrest this morning is outrageous and arbitrary,” Ghosn said in a statement released by a representative. “Why arrest me except to try to break me? I will not be broken.
