Waking up early can make you healthier and wealthier — yet 95% of Americans hate mornings

Rise and whine!

A whopping 95% of Americans hate mornings, according to a new Ipsos survey commissioned by the Sargento cheese company. And 43% of people “despise” the sound of their alarm clock, while 39% identify as “slow risers” who need to ease into their day.

Granted, research shows that getting enough sleep is linked with happiness and well being — yet almost half (42%) of American adults usually get less than seven hours of sleep a night. And there’s scientific evidence to suggest that whether you’re a morning person or not is written in your genes. No wonder most of us aren’t so bright-eyed and bushy-tailed every day.
