President Donald Trump called China’s President Xi Jinping a ‘fantastic’ person.

President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping will use the Group of 20 meeting this weekend to “press pause” on their on-going trade war, analysts said as Trump departed for Osaka, Japan.

Trump and Xi are set to meet for 90 minutes on Saturday afternoon on the sidelines of the G-20 meeting.

“The Trump administration has signaled for weeks that the president again wants a trade deal with China. While unsound as a negotiating strategy, it does make for a clear prediction. The U.S. will agree to suspend the $300 billion tariff and talks will restart,” said Derek Scissors, an analyst with the American Enterprise Institute.
