Capitol Report: Harris narrows Biden lead in post-debate poll, the worst for the former vice president this cycle

Democratic presidential hopeful Kamala Harris and other candidates have gained on front-runner Joe Biden, says a new CNN poll that offers another sign that the former vice president is losing some support after the party’s first primary debates.

Biden has support of 22% of registered voters who are Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents, according to the poll, which was conducted for CNN by research firm SSRS. That represents a 10-point drop for the former vice president since the last such poll in late May.

The 22% level marks Biden’s weakest showing in a national poll so far in the 2020 race, according to a RealClearPolitics tracker that looks back as far as October 2018.
