European markets stutter after strong U.S. jobs data casts doubt over Fed rate cuts

European markets stuttered and edged down as traders remained cautious following Friday’s strong U.S. jobs data.

The DAX DAX, -0.37% and the CAC PX1, -0.30% both fell 0.2% in early trading as markets remained sluggish in the aftermath of the unexpectedly strong employment boost.

The FTSE 100 UKX, -0.13% was also softer, dropping 0.1% as rebounding mining giants helped the index avoid larger losses.
