Toys ‘R’ Us is making a comeback in the U.S., but maybe it shouldn’t

Toys ‘R’ Us is making a comeback in the U.S., but James Zahn, senior editor of The Toy Insider, says parent company Tru Kids Brands shouldn’t even bother.

Tru Kids will open two stores this holiday season, one at The Galleria in Houston, the other at the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, N.J. The company said the stores will be “highly interactive with new events and activities every day.” Brands will also have the chance to design their own shops using an “experiential retail model” using software from b8ta.

Both Tru Kids and b8ta plan to open additional stores in 2020, according to the announcement.
